Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho Her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012, as she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she debuted new music through the internet including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. It was announced on December 8that she was made an agreement with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track which she co-wrote with Cozz to record her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October of 2016 she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The following year, she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream of the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. In November, the singer released singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. The 13th of November, she dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in the 16th of November, and dropped the song in a solo version for her first album. The song was followed by the release of a music video in February 20, 2019, and it surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in its first seven days. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
